Begusarai, Bihar – November 1, 2025, 03:30 PM IST

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made a grand entry into the Bihar Assembly poll campaign on Saturday, landing at Patna’s Jay Prakash Narayan Airport before addressing her first-ever rally in Begusarai. And she didn’t hold back—blasting the NDA government both at the Centre and in Bihar for indulging in what she called “divisive politics” and a theatre of fake nationalism.”
No ‘Double-Engine’ Government, Only Delhi-Controlled Affairs
Speaking to a cheering crowd, Vadra took aim at the much-touted double-engine government narrative. “There’s no double-engine government here,” she said, with a hint of mockery. “Everything is controlled from Delhi. Bihar is running on autopilot, and the people are the passengers.”
Her words echoed discontent over centralised decision-making, implying that local governance has been reduced to mere window dressing while the real levers of power pull strings from the capital.
Allegations of Voter Manipulation and Roll Tampering
Vadra didn’t spare the BJP’s electoral strategies either. She slammed the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter rolls in Bihar, claiming, “Deleting voters’ names amounts to a breach of people’s rights.” She warned the electorate against what she called a systematic attempt at vote manipulation, adding:
“They first divide people, go to war on every front, but when that doesn’t distract from real issues, they resort to stealing votes!”
Unemployment, Migration, and the ‘Real Issues’ Ignored
Taking a jab at the BJP’s political messaging, she quipped that while party leaders love to criticize Nehru ji and Indira ji, they conveniently ignore pressing concerns like unemployment, migration, and state development.
“Bihar contributed immensely to India’s growth, yet the state remains underdeveloped,” she remarked, hinting at broken promises and unfulfilled schemes.
Privatization Allegations: ‘PSUs to Corporate Friends’
Vadra’s speech didn’t miss a punch at economic policies either. She alleged rampant privatization under the NDA, saying, “The PM handed over big PSUs to his corporate friends. Bihar’s resources are being sold while the common man waits for a job.”
Rally Takeaways: Satire Meets Strategy
True to her style, Vadra combined serious allegations with a subtle mocking tone, signaling a Congress ready to hold the NDA accountable while engaging voters with wit and passion. She urged the people:
“Don’t get fooled by promises. Look at actions, not slogans. Bihar deserves more than a Delhi-controlled puppet show.”
